Funky band outta Evanston, Illinois that T.K. national promotions man Fred Rector brought to the Glades label after they played at the Watts Festival in L.A.
Fred told them they would be bigger than KC and The Sunshine Band, Timmy Thomas, and T-Connection.
They signed a record deal, and came on down to Hialeah and slapped this funk on tape. They also spent time in the studio cutting tracks with Timmy Thomas on the keyboard and Robert Johnson from KC and The Sunshine Band on drums.
It’s all in this video found on youtube that was made by band member John Nance of John Nance Entertainment.
The Urban Crisis – “Spread Love Around” b/w “Sugar Man” original record is a collectors item that resellers auction for up to $40.
This has been another classic tale of funk.
