Steve Alaimo in Record World 1967

Steve Alaimo was Vice President of TK Records. He produced the Allman Bros before they were the Allman Bros, and wrote their song “Melissa.” He engineered, he a&r’d. In the studio, he did it all. But before all that, he was onothe other side of the microphone, as an artist on the verge of international superstardom. All he needed was that one big breakthrough hit. And in 1967, it looked like it was going to be “You Don’t Know Like I Know,” from the movie Wild Rebel, which he also starred in. Henry Stone was his personal manager, and Steve was also the host of a nationally televised show on the ABC network called Where The Action Is. There was a half hour special called The Many Sides of Steve Alaimo. To top it all off, he scheduled a 30 day nationwide tour. It was a busy year. And here is the proof from a full page ad in Record World Magazine, 1967.
