“Man, I distributed every independent black label here…I also distributed Warner Brothers, MGM, ABC and all the other stuff too, but I would break, I was instrumental in breaking every black record in this country down here in Florida, with either Butterball, or King Coleman, or up to Fred Hannah, where I had complete control, and I’d know when a record was gonna hit. And as a distributor I would order 13,000 of the record from the manufacturer and it would become a national hit.”
From 1946 to 2014, Henry Stone ruled the Florida music industry with an iron fist, a brick of cash, and a warehouse full of vinyl. HSM is the last of over one hundred record labels he personally founded. The HSM record label includes works from every decade in his sixty-five year career right up until today. Licensing available for film, samples, advertising, movies, video games, and more. Family owned and operated.
